People Can Fly Joins Sony for Project Delta, Following Gears of War: E-Day

by Isaac May 02,2025

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new game, codenamed Project Delta. This exciting collaboration was detailed in a report from People Can Fly, which described the project as a work-for-hire endeavor, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling an impressive array of projects, each with its own unique codename. Among these, Project Gemini, developed in partnership with Square Enix, faced setbacks with 30 developers being laid off last year. Meanwhile, Project Echo is being crafted with Krafton, and Project Red appears to be another collaboration with Sony. Just yesterday, the studio announced that Project Bison would mark their final venture into VR gaming.

Recent months have seen some shifts in their project lineup. Last December, People Can Fly decided to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they cancelled Project Dagger, which was set to be an action-adventure game developed with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight ongoing projects that we are aware of. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. On the other hand, Project Gemini, in collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for release in 2026.
