Pizza Tower, Castlevania Collection Arrive on Nintendo Switch

by Isabella Feb 11,2025

Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise game releases. This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but! We've got news, a review of today's eShop additions, and our daily sales lists. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase Delivers a Bounty of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved a smart move, resulting in a flurry of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. I strongly recommend watching the full video for a complete overview. A wealth of titles caters to diverse gaming preferences.

Select New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A third Castlevania compilation joins the fray, courtesy of a surprise release. This collection features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the infamous arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. This release offers exceptional emulation and a comprehensive feature set, providing incredible value for the price.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer makes a high-energy debut. Conquer the five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will find this a must-have. Even without a strong Wario preference, platforming enthusiasts should give this a try. A review is pending.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

Another surprise release! It's Goat Simulator 3. The familiar chaos returns. While performance on the Switch remains unverified, it's worth noting that more powerful systems have experienced occasional performance issues. Proceed with caution, though the game's inherent absurdity might even complement any technical hiccups. Ultimately, it's a question of whether chaotic goat antics in an open world are worth the risk.

Peglin ($19.99)

While it's tempting to criticize EA's decision to not bring PopCap games to Switch, Peglin provides a satisfying alternative for Peggle fans. This mobile hit now graces the Switch, seamlessly blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. A review is forthcoming.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's latest shop simulation game incorporates the Doraemon license. This familiar formula receives a charming makeover, featuring characters from the popular manga and anime, and even includes cameos from the artist's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for existing fans. Support for up to eight players via local or online multiplayer enhances the cooperative puzzle-solving experience. While enjoyable, it lacks significant innovation to attract newcomers.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

A budget-friendly rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio's music. Simple yet enjoyable.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game starring a penguin. One hundred levels of crate-pushing challenges.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles await. Utilize character abilities and drawing mechanics to solve problems. Local and online multiplayer supports up to four players.
