Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus Essentials and Game Catalog will discontinue PS4 game offerings starting January 2026, shifting focus exclusively to PS5 titles.

"As we transition to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a core benefit and will only occasionally appear in PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog," Sony stated. Previously claimed monthly games will remain accessible, but Game Catalog titles will rotate out during regular refreshes.

"We remain committed to enhancing PlayStation Plus with exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, cloud saves, and other benefits," Sony added. "With our focus shifting to PS5, we're excited to deliver fresh PS5 titles each month for our members."
