Voltorb & Hisuian Voltorb Spotlight Hour

Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb Spotlight Hour

The Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour runs from 6 PM to 7 PM Local Time on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. This week features Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, offering a double chance to snag Shiny versions of both Pokémon. Both Pokémon are valuable additions to your team, providing significant damage output.

With two Pokémon featured, stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense to maximize your chances of catching Shiny Pokémon. Ensure you have enough storage space; you'll likely catch many Pokémon during this hour.

Voltorb (#100 in the Pokédex), from Generation I (Kanto), is tradable and transferable to Pokémon HOME. Catching it rewards 3 Candies and 100 Stardust. It evolves into Electrode using 50 Candies. With a max CP of 1141, 109 Attack, and 111 Defense, Voltorb packs a punch. As an Electric-type, it's weak to Ground-type attacks (160% damage) and resists Electric, Flying, and Steel-type attacks (63% damage). Its optimal moveset is Spark (Electric) and Discharge (Electric), delivering 5.81 DPS and 40.62 TDO. Rainy weather boosts its attack. A blue Shiny Voltorb awaits!

Hisuian Voltorb (#100), also from Generation I (Kanto), shares Voltorb's trading and transfer capabilities and rewards. It evolves into Hisuian Electrode using 50 Candies, and also boasts 1141 CP, 111 Defense, and 109 Attack. While also Electric-type, its weaknesses and resistances differ slightly. Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type attacks deal 160% damage, while Grass, Steel, and Water-type attacks deal 63% damage. Other Electric-type attacks only do 39% damage. Its best moveset is Tackle (Normal) and Thunderbolt (Electric), providing 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO. Partly Cloudy and Rainy weather enhance its damage. Look for the Shiny variant with its distinctive black body instead of orange.
