Rocksteady Hit Hard by Suicide Squad

Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further layoffs in late 2024, affecting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs which halved the testing team's size.

The studio has struggled throughout 2024 to maintain the game amidst poor reception and substantial financial losses. Warner Bros. reported approximately $200 million in losses from the project. Consequently, no further updates are planned for 2025, though servers will remain active.

These job cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. Games studio, also experienced significant layoffs (99 employees) in December.

The game's troubled launch, particularly for early access players, exacerbated the situation. Numerous bugs, server outages, and a major plot spoiler surfaced, leading to widespread negative reviews and a massive surge in refund requests—a 791% increase according to McLuck analytics.

Rocksteady's future projects remain unannounced.
