Silent Hill Transmission Sheds Light on Silent Hill f

New Official Reveal Trailer

The Silent Hill Transmission on March 13, 2025, unveiled exciting details about Silent Hill f, including a captivating new trailer. Unlike previous entries set in a fictional American town, Silent Hill f transports players to 1960s Japan.

The game's story follows Shimizu Hinako, an ordinary teenager whose life takes a terrifying turn when her town is engulfed in fog and undergoes horrifying transformations. Hinako must navigate this unrecognizable environment, solve puzzles, battle bizarre enemies, and make a crucial decision to survive. The narrative is described as "a tale about a beautiful yet terrifying choice."

Set in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka, inspired by Kanayama in Gero, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, the developers meticulously recreated the town's intricate alleyways. They utilized reference photos, recorded local sounds, and integrated historical materials to authentically depict the 1960s setting.

Find the Beauty in Terror

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto highlighted the game's central theme: "find the beauty in terror." While maintaining the series' psychological horror roots, the team embraced the challenge of setting the game in Japan, exploring themes unique to Japanese horror.

Okamoto explained, "A key aspect of Japanese horror is the notion that terror can be found within beauty. When something becomes too perfect, it can become deeply unsettling. Players will experience this through the eyes of a young girl facing a beautiful yet terrifying decision."

Silent Hill f Is A Completely Independent Story

Okamoto emphasized that Silent Hill f offers a standalone story, welcoming new players while still delighting long-time fans with hidden easter eggs. Fans of the game's writer, Ryukishi07, known for his psychological horror visual novels, will find the narrative particularly engaging.

As a dedicated fan of the franchise, Ryukishi07 has played all the Silent Hill games. He views Silent Hill f as both a return to the series' roots and a fresh challenge. One significant challenge was creating a Silent Hill game outside the series' traditional setting.

Ryukishi07 confidently stated, "From a creator’s perspective, I believe we've crafted a true Silent Hill experience. We're eager to see how the series' long-time fans react and whether they agree."

Silent Hill f is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While no specific release date has been announced, stay tuned for the latest updates by clicking on our article below!
