The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to the PS5 version but also runs more smoothly, sparking widespread community discussions about the necessity for an update on Sony's console.
Currently, the PS5 version suffers from blurry visuals when set to performance mode, leaving base console owners eagerly awaiting patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged the potential for improvements within the technical constraints of the platform. "After releasing the promo for the PC version, we received numerous requests for a similar update for the PS5 version. We're keen to address this within the limits of what's possible with the PS5's performance," Hamaguchi stated.
The gaming community is hopeful that Square Enix will respond to these fan requests and enhance the visual quality on consoles.
While the development team is focused on the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked fans for patience, promising more details in the near future. He reflected on 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, noting its global recognition and multiple awards. Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII presents unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base.
Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the pressure faced by the Rockstar Games team following the phenomenal success of GTA V. He voiced his support, understanding the high expectations placed on them.
