Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has hinted at the possibility of developing "Stardew Valley 2" someday.
However, don't celebrate just yet—during his TigerBelly interview, the developer acknowledged that expanding the current game remains far simpler than building an entire sequel.
"All the fundamental systems are already built," Barone explained. "That foundational work isn't thrilling—what excites me now is adding whimsical elements like green rain or other playful features during updates."
"Though frankly, I might create Stardew Valley 2 eventually," he added (via Nintendo Life).
Looking Beyond Pelican Town
Barone revealed his desire not to be typecast as "the Stardew Valley guy," motivating his current focus on upcoming project Haunted Chocolatier. Fans shouldn't expect imminent news—he emphasizes substantial work remains, particularly in surpassing Stardew Valley's success.
