NetherRealm Studios has debuted gameplay footage for Mortal Kombat 1's DLC guest fighter the T-1000 while confirming Madam Bo as a playable Kameo combatant.
The T-1000 showcase highlights devastating moves inspired by Terminator 2, featuring its signature morphing blade and hook appendages. The fighter's moveset blends elements reminiscent of Baraka and Kabal while introducing terrifying liquid-metal transformations, including a rising uppercut evoking Killer Instinct's Glacius.
Robert Patrick reprises his iconic role from Terminator 2, lending both voice and likeness to Mortal Kombat 1's T-1000. The trailer unveils Patrick's chilling voice performance during exchanges with Johnny Cage, culminating in a brutal Fatality that recreates Terminator 2's unforgettable truck chase sequence - with Cage as the unfortunate target.
In an unexpected reveal, NetherRealm announced Madam Bo's arrival as a Kameo fighter alongside the T-1000. The beloved story mode character - an elderly restaurateur who holds her own against Smoke's forces - briefly appears assisting the T-1000 during combat sequences.
The T-1000 launches March 18 for Khaos Reigns early access holders, with general availability beginning March 25. Madam Bo debuts simultaneously as free DLC for expansion owners or as standalone content.
As the final Khaos Reigns DLC fighter following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan, the T-1000 completes the roster. Speculation continues regarding potential Kombat Pack 3 announcements, despite Warner Bros. reaffirming commitment to the franchise.
Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav recently identified Mortal Kombat among four core gaming franchises the company will prioritize moving forward.

Series co-creator Ed Boon previously confirmed NetherRealm's intention to support Mortal Kombat 1 extensively, despite selecting its next project three years prior.
While fans anticipate Injustice 3 following the series' alternating release pattern (2013's Injustice: Gods Among Us, 2017's Injustice 2, 2019's Mortal Kombat 11), Boon attributed MK1's development to COVID-19 precautions and the studio's transition to Unreal Engine 4.
"We recognized multiple factors influencing this decision," Boon told IGN in 2023. "Between engine upgrades, pandemic safety protocols, and other considerations, continuing with Mortal Kombat became the logical choice - though Injustice remains very much alive."
When pressed about Injustice's future, Boon unequivocally stated: "The door remains completely open."
