Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja's 30th Anniversary: Big Plans on the Horizon

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for its action-packed franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Beyond these iconic series, the studio has also garnered success with soulslike RPGs, including the Nioh series and collaborations such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The recent release of Rise of the Ronin further solidified their position in the action RPG genre.

According to a 4Gamer.net report (via Gematsu), Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda teased upcoming releases, describing them as "titles fitting for the occasion." While specifics remain undisclosed, speculation naturally centers on the possibility of new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden franchises. Yasuda's statement, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," has ignited anticipation among fans.

Team Ninja's 2025 Possibilities:

The announcement of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound at The Game Awards 2024 already confirmed one significant release. This side-scrolling title promises a fresh take on the classic Ninja Gaiden formula, blending retro 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements. This follows the divisive 2014 release, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The future of the Dead or Alive franchise remains uncertain. The last mainline entry, Dead or Alive 6, launched in 2019, leaving fans eager for a new installment. Recent releases have been limited to spin-offs, fueling hopes for a major announcement in 2025. Similarly, a new entry in the popular Nioh series is another strong contender for a 30th-anniversary release.

The anticipation surrounding Team Ninja's 30th-anniversary plans is high. With a proven track record and a history of delivering critically acclaimed titles, 2025 promises to be a significant year for the studio and its loyal fanbase.
