Tides of Annihilation: a beautiful action game announced

Tides of Annihilation, drawing inspiration from Arthurian legend, casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman battling alongside spectral knights to rescue her family and mend a fractured world.

The game unfolds in a ravaged, modern-day London, overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. Players will confront hordes of enemies alongside their ghostly allies, facing the primary threat: colossal, roaming knights that demand strategic combat, requiring players to scale and engage in intense, close-quarters battles.

While visually impressive, the game's narrative currently lacks a compelling hook. Recent soulslike titles have successfully reimagined classic stories, such as the relatively unknown "Journey to the West" and the twisted retelling of Pinocchio in Lies of P. However, the King Arthur narrative feels overused and familiar. This prevents Tides of Annihilation from achieving its full potential, despite its undeniable visual appeal.
