"Unlock All 4 Adra Types in Avowed: A Guide"

by Savannah Apr 01,2025

In the expansive world of *Avowed*, the Living Lands are rich with resources essential for upgrading your weapons and armor. Among these, the four types of Adra stand out as the rarest and most valuable. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to obtain all four types of Adra in *Avowed*.

How Adra Spawns and Scales in Avowed

*Avowed* features four distinct types of Adra: Base Adra, Awakened Adra, Corrupted Adra, and Adra Bán. Each type varies in rarity and value, and the higher the Quality you aim to achieve with your unique weapons or armor, the rarer the Adra you'll need. For instance, reaching Legendary Quality requires Adra Bán.

The more valuable Adra types are located in the game's more challenging areas. As you advance through these tougher zones, enemy stats escalate, necessitating gear upgrades. This means you'll need the higher rarity Adra found in these regions. Although lower-tier Adra can be crafted into higher-tier forms at a Party Camp, it's less efficient than directly finding the higher forms in their specific zones. Here's where each type of Adra begins to spawn in the Living Lands:

  • Base Adra will spawn starting in Dawnshore
  • Awakened Adra will spawn starting in the Emerald Stair Region
  • Corrupted Adra will spawn starting in the Shatterscarp Region
  • Adra Bán can spawn in Galawain’s Tusks and the final unnamed section of the game

Every Way to Get Adra in Avowed

Avowed Adra Guide

The type of Adra you encounter correlates with the region you're exploring within *Avowed*. Adra is often rewarded in significant story sections, such as after defeating a boss. For example, vanquishing Ygwulf in Dawnshore's early areas will grant you Adra. Similarly, defeating mini-bosses in the game's final section can yield Adra Bán.

Beyond these major story encounters, there are several general methods to acquire the four types of Adra throughout the Living Lands:

  • Purchasing from Merchants: Many merchants dealing in weapons, armor, and magic across the Living Lands also sell limited quantities of Adra. You'll most often find these merchants in major settlements like Paradis in Dawnshore or Thirdborn in Shatterscarp.
  • Looting: Adra can be found as loot, primarily from defeating named enemies like bosses or mini-bosses in both main and side quests. Keep an eye out for lock boxes, which may contain Adra, and ensure you have plenty of Lockpicks to explore hidden areas off the main paths.
  • Crafting: Breaking down Unique weapons and armor often yields Adra, with the type and quality scaling according to the item's Quality. Additionally, lower-quality Adra can be upgraded to higher tiers at a Party Camp.
  • Strangled Adra: These are significant collectibles scattered throughout the Living Lands. Strangled Adra pillars are rare and often require solving puzzles to free the Adra for collection.

By understanding these methods and knowing where to find each type of Adra, you can effectively gather the resources needed to enhance your gear in *Avowed*.

*Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.*
