Get ready for the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova! Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta are making their debut. This guide explains how to obtain and fuse these legendary Pokémon.
Kyurem's Alternate Forms Arrive
Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic has confirmed the arrival of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta to the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova in February and March 2025.
In-person event attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA (February 21-23, 2025) can participate in five-star raids to catch Kyurem, then fuse it with either Zekrom or Reshiram.
Fusion Requirements:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy
Fusion Energy is earned by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to the base form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom have increased encounter rates during the event.
A global event (March 1-2, 2025) offers a ticket-free opportunity to participate.
Shiny Meloetta's Grand Entrance
Shiny Meloetta makes its Pokémon GO debut! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this Pokémon. The research doesn't expire, allowing completion at your own pace.
Unova's Legendary Trio and More
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation. Black and White 2 introduced Kyurem's alternate forms, each with unique attacks (Ice Burn and Freeze Shock). This event brings the complete Unova experience to Pokémon GO!
