For over three decades, role-playing games have been a cornerstone of the video game industry. Each month brings a wave of new RPGs, from major releases like Starfield, Lies of P, Hogwarts Legacy, Octopath Traveler 2, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, to more specialized titles such as Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society, 8-Bit Adventures 2, and Little Witch Nobeta. The future of the genre is always brimming with anticipation.
The ambitious nature of AAA RPGs often leads to announcements years ahead of release, generating significant excitement and, sometimes, equally high expectations. This pre-release hype can be difficult to manage, occasionally leading to unmet expectations. However, when a game successfully fulfills its promise, the result is truly exceptional. So, which upcoming RPGs are generating the most buzz?
