Top Performers
The coveted title of Best Game of the Year went to AFK Journey, a fantasy RPG developed by Farlight and Lilith Games. Its expansive world, stunning visuals, and epic battles featuring a huge roster of characters secured the win. While the "Away From Keyboard" idle game genre might seem an unexpected choice for this award, the game's exploration and artistic merit clearly impressed Google.
Supercell's Clash of Clans claimed the Best Multi-Device Game of the Year award. Its cross-platform availability (mobile, PC, and Chromebooks) was a key factor in its victory. Players can now build bases, train troops, and engage in clan wars across multiple devices.
Other notable winners include Supercell's Squad Busters, earning Best Multiplayer Game; NetEase Games' Eggy Party, winning Best Pick Up & Play due to its accessibility; and Yes, Your Grace, a Best Indie title developed by Brave at Night and published by Noodlecake, marking its successful mobile debut after its 2020 PC release.
A surprise win in the Best Story category was Solo Leveling: Arise. While its narrative might be a point of contention, its overall popularity is undeniable.
Honkai: Star Rail received the Best Ongoing award, thanks to its consistent updates and engaging content. The Best for Families category was won by Kids at Play's Tab Time World, while Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance was the Play Pass winner. Finally, Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures secured the Best Google Play Games on PC award.
