Wuthering Waves: Conquering the Last Knight

The Last Knight is a charming side quest in the Rinascita region of Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves update. While not as epic as the main storyline, it offers a refreshing glimpse into life beyond Ragna City and boasts some worthwhile rewards. This quest is significantly shorter and less demanding than others in the region, making it a quick and enjoyable diversion. Here's a concise walkthrough.

Starting The Last Knight Quest

Before embarking on this quest, you must complete Chapter 2 of the main storyline, including the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. We highly recommend finishing the main questline before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until Chapter 2, Act 3 is complete.

Once you've met this prerequisite, travel to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven and locate Cosimo. He's usually found near the first house beside the main road leading out of town, easily identifiable by a blue quest marker on your map.

The Night Reveries

The Night Reveries is a performance commemorating a knight who supposedly slew a giant in Whisperwind Haven. This part involves defeating the Mad Knight (among other tasks).

The Mad Knight only appears at night. Adjust your in-game time to between 6 PM and 6 AM, then head to the central pool in town. This enemy isn't particularly challenging; use your strongest attacks to defeat it.

The Last Knight: Mimic Chests

After defeating the Mad Knight, ascend the tallest tower in town and fly to Carlow's location, marked on your quest map. You'll find him unconscious near a large purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a new area where you must identify the genuine chest among several mimics.

The first three chests are genuine. In the next set, only one is real; the others are mimics. The correct chest is the second one in the middle-left. Opening it yields Astrites and other rewards, but be prepared for a fight with the remaining mimic chests afterward.

The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent

After exiting the mimic chest area, you'll be tasked with visiting two locations associated with the legendary Mad Knight. This involves following quest markers and interacting with NPCs.

Following your conversation with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will mention a strange scent. Follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. We recommend using a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot; its parry ability can stun the Chop Chop effectively.

After defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper reveals the truth: there was no legendary knight; he and other Windmill Keepers played the role. This revelation causes Carlow to flee in disbelief.

Find Carlow

Teleport or fly back to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in one of the town plazas. He'll be confronted by knights mocking him. Instead of backing down, Carlow challenges one to a duel, rejecting the romanticized Mad Knight fantasy and embracing a truer definition of protection.

The quest concludes after Carlow issues his challenge. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and other resources as rewards, completing The Last Knight entry in the Tales of the Isles event.
