HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero introduces players to a captivating lineup of characters, each with distinct personalities and unique mechanics that enhance team synergy. As with any game focused on combat, enthusiasts are eager to identify the top performers. This ZZZ tier list will help you understand the rankings of Zenless Zone Zero 1.0 characters.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with regularly added characters evolve with the meta. Initially, Grace was a top-tier Agent due to her powerful Anomaly building, especially when paired with other Anomaly characters. However, with the introduction of more Anomaly units, Grace's relevance has diminished, particularly with the rise of the overpowered Miyabi. This Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been revised to align with the current character lineup and their rankings.

S-Tier

S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are top-tier units that excel in their roles and synergize exceptionally well with others.

Miyabi

Miyabi stands out as one of the premier characters in ZZZ, leveraging her swift Frost hits and massive damage output. She requires strategic build-up, but once mastered, Miyabi can dominate the battlefield with her potent attacks.

Jane Doe

Jane Doe surpasses Piper in ZZZ thanks to her ability to critically hit with Assault Anomaly, delivering superior damage compared to her counterpart. While Anomaly-based characters often operate at a slower pace, Jane Doe's powerful Assault capabilities secure her an S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Yanagi

Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without needing to apply Shock on top of another Anomaly. As long as an enemy is under an Anomaly effect, Yanagi can effortlessly activate Disorder, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.

Zhu Yuan

Zhu Yuan is a formidable DPS in ZZZ, delivering rapid damage with her Shotshells. She pairs well with a variety of Stun and Support characters, with Qingyi and Nicole being her most effective teammates in version 1.1. Qingyi helps stun enemies quickly, while Nicole boosts Zhu Yuan's Ether damage and reduces enemy DEF.

Caesar

Caesar redefines the role of a Defense Agent, offering not only excellent protection but also significant buffs and debuffs. Her Impact scaling allows her to stun enemies easily, and her crowd control ability to gather small enemies enhances her status as the top support in ZZZ.

Qingyi

Qingyi is a versatile Stunner suitable for any team with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze build-up via Basic Attack spam make her a valuable asset. Additionally, Qingyi's ability to apply a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies surpasses that of Lycaon and Koleda, though she doesn't outshine Lycaon in teams centered around Ellen.

Lighter

Lighter, a Stun Agent, enhances his kit with notable buffs, making him an excellent match for Fire and Ice characters. Given the abundance of powerful units with these attributes, Lighter secures a high position on the ZZZ tier list.

Lycaon

Lycaon, an Ice-based Stun unit, relies on his charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to inflict Ice and Daze on enemies, aiding Anomaly reactions. His ability to reduce enemies' Ice resistance while boosting allies' Daze DMG makes him indispensable in Ice teams.

Ellen

Ellen, an Attack Agent specializing in Ice, shines in Zenless Zone Zero due to her exceptional synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku. When Ellen enters the fray after Lycaon stuns enemies and Soukaku buffs her, she delivers devastating damage with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.

Harumasa

Harumasa, a free S-Rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, excels as an Electric-Attack character once specific conditions are met to unleash his powerful hits.

Soukaku

Soukaku serves as an effective Support in Zenless Zone Zero, acting primarily as a buffer while contributing to Ice Anomaly build-up. Paired with other Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon, Soukaku's Ice buffs elevate her status as a premier buffer.

Rina

Rina, a Support, not only deals substantial damage but also grants allies PEN, enabling them to bypass enemy defenses. Her focus on PEN Ratio makes her essential for maximizing damage output in Zenless Zone Zero. Additionally, Rina excels at building Shock Anomaly and enhancing Shock reactions, making her a valuable partner for Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in specific roles or combos, offering solid performance overall.

Nicole

Nicole, an Ether Support, enhances Zenless Zone Zero teams by pulling enemies into energy fields, benefiting AoE units like Nekomata. Her ability to shred enemy DEF and boost team Ether DMG is valuable, though her support benefits Ether DPS units more significantly.

Seth

Seth excels as a shielder and support, though he doesn't match the prowess of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche support for Anomaly DPS teams makes him valuable, despite ATK buffers being more broadly beneficial.

Lucy

Lucy, a Support unit, can deal off-field damage and apply an ATK% buff to the entire team for up to 15 seconds using her Guard Boars. Her damage output increases when synergized with another character to trigger her Additional Ability.

Piper

Piper's gameplay revolves around her EX Special Attack, which is among the best in Zenless Zone Zero. Her spinning attack can trigger Assault and build Physical Anomaly, making her a strong fit for teams focused on Anomaly and Disorder.

Grace

Grace remains a potent Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero, adept at quickly shocking enemies and triggering continuous damage. When paired with other Anomaly builders, Grace can initiate Disorder for significant damage, though her position on the tier list has shifted due to the emergence of other Anomaly Agents.

Koleda

Koleda, a reliable Fire/Stun character, efficiently builds Daze on enemies, making her a versatile addition to any team, particularly those with another Fire unit. Her synergy with Ben not only boosts stats but also introduces new movesets.

Anby

Anby, celebrated for her comedic timing in story quests, is also a dependable Stun unit in Zenless Zone Zero. Her quick combos and bullet-deflecting ability during runs are notable, though her susceptibility to interruptions lowers her ranking compared to other Stun Agents.

Soldier 11

Soldier 11 offers straightforward gameplay in Zenless Zone Zero, dealing substantial damage. Her Basic Attacks can be infused with Fire through various means, though mastering her EX Special Attack simplifies her mechanics.

B-Tier

B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero contribute to teams but are outshined by others in their roles.

Ben

Ben, the sole defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, offers unique gameplay through parrying and punishing enemies, alongside providing new movesets for Koleda. However, his slow combat style and limited team benefits outside his Crit Rate buff, coupled with a decent shield, make him less preferable compared to mastering dodging.

Nekomata

Nekomata, an Attack unit, delivers potent AoE damage but relies heavily on team synergy to maximize her potential. In the 1.0 tier list, her lack of suitable teammates, particularly due to her Element and Faction, limits her effectiveness. However, future updates may enhance her position with more supportive Physical characters.

C-Tier

C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to teams.

Corin

Corin, a Physical DMG dealer, excels in delivering continuous slash damage to Stunned enemies using her EX Special Skill. However, she is overshadowed by Nekomata, who offers better AoE damage, and Piper, who excels at applying Physical Anomaly.

Billy

Billy, known for his loud presence and frequent shooting, falls short in dealing substantial damage. As an Attack character, he performs best in quick-swap teams, but many other DPS characters outperform him.

Anton

Anton's interesting Core Skill allows for continuous Shock damage, but his overall DPS output is lacking. As an Attack/Electric unit, Anton struggles to be the main DPS and is limited by his single-target focus.
