Each Abductor in Freedom Wars Remastered displays a health bar on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and combat items to deplete this health and defeat the Abductor. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique functionality. While Light Melee weapons often sever body parts, Impact Damage serves a similar strategic role.

Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide details Impact Damage mechanics and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What is the Effect of Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly increase total damage. Instead, it's non-elemental damage boosting the force of normal attacks, thus increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating opportunities for substantial damage before recovery.

Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is invisible; staggering occurs when the rate reaches a threshold. This presents both advantages and drawbacks. Offline play allows for charged attacks and powerful hits. However, online, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammate attacks. Some Abductors, such as Ramosa (who moves backward when staggered), present unique challenges during this phase, requiring precise attacks.

How to Enhance Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature allows creation of custom modules using resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module necessitates Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined via Synthesise Modules to upgrade effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon increases its Impact Damage and staggering capability.

Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes staggering efficiency. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with inherent stagger potential.
