The much-anticipated PC release of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, Rockstar's next-generation version of the iconic open-world game, is now available. This enhanced edition introduces substantial graphical improvements and new features such as complete DualSense controller support, providing an enriched gaming experience for PC enthusiasts.
Among the key enhancements are ray-traced reflections, updated vehicle designs, and numerous minor adjustments that significantly boost the visual quality. The popular YouTube channel GameV recently provided a side-by-side comparison, illustrating the graphical evolution over the last 12 years since the original release. The improvements are most striking during rainy nights or in darker areas, where advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections excel. However, in bright, sunny conditions, the differences between the original and enhanced versions are less noticeable.
Despite a strong launch, with over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam—outpacing the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard edition—the reception has been mixed. Currently, the game holds a 56% positive review rating on Steam. Many players have debated the need for this update, citing the relatively minor visual enhancements. Further criticism includes problems with DualSense controller functionality and glitches encountered when transferring characters from the original GTA Online. While some users have reported smooth transitions, others are still grappling with ongoing bugs.
