Metaphor: ReFantazio Releases New Update for January 2025

Metaphor: ReFantazio receives Update 1.11, enhancing menu navigation and addressing PC bugs. This minor patch improves user experience across all platforms, building on the game's phenomenal success since its October 2024 release.

Launched to critical acclaim and record-breaking sales (one million copies globally on day one!), Metaphor: ReFantazio has solidified its place as a leading RPG. The game, following a young boy's quest to become King of Euchronia, has garnered numerous Game of the Year awards and a perfect 100 score on OpenCritic.

Update 1.11 introduces streamlined menu navigation. Players on all platforms can now adjust battle formations and swap party members from both the main menu and the equipment screen. A new "jump to" function on the item screen expedites gameplay. PC players benefit from additional bug fixes, resolving issues with camera control, frame rate, and controller input. Atlus's commitment to post-launch support ensures a polished experience.

Speculation about a sequel is growing, fueled by the game's overwhelming popularity. While director Katsura Hashino confirms no concrete plans currently exist, he expresses his hope for a future Metaphor: ReFantazio series, envisioning it alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei.

With Atlus enjoying unprecedented success, anticipation for future announcements is high, particularly regarding Persona 6 as 2025 marks the ninth anniversary of Persona 5.
