Ubisoft describes this update as the most extensive content overhaul in Rainbow Six Siege history. Among the new features available in the closed beta is the Dual Front game mode, enabling 6-on-6 team battles.

The Siege X update also promises significant improvements to existing maps, a redesigned user interface, enhanced technical performance, and a rebalanced online matchmaking system—especially aimed at helping newer players.
