Hollow Knight: Silksong Playable Version
Available at Game Worlds in Australia
After years of anticipation, players will finally get hands-on experience with Hollow Knight: Silksong at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). The museum's Game Worlds exhibition from September 2025 to February 2026 will feature an exclusive build of the game, potentially showcasing significant evolution since its 2019 demo.
The comprehensive Game Worlds exhibition will highlight gaming landmarks including World of Warcraft and The Sims alongside Hollow Knight: Silksong, displaying original concept art, design materials, and unique gameplay experiences.
ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell told IGN: "From its 2019 announcement, Silksong has captured global attention as one of the most awaited indie titles. We're proud to feature this South Australian-developed game as a centerpiece of our Game Worlds exhibition."
ACMI's exhibit promises unprecedented access to Silksong's development process. The curators elaborated: "Visitors will explore Hornet's detailed sprite animations, encounter stage designs for challenging boss battles, and experience the playable build - all revealing the game's intricate artistic vision."
While supporting Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 as confirmed in recent announcements, Silksong maintains its planned release across all major platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC during its 2025 launch window. Though the exhibition schedule might hint at timing, developers haven't confirmed specific dates beyond 2025.
