Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has introduced a thrilling new game titled Absolum—a dynamic fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the enchanting yet ravaged world of Talamh, the narrative unfolds in a land scarred by a magical cataclysm. Here, the populace lives in dread of magic, a fear expertly manipulated by the tyrannical King-Sun Azra. He uses his Crimson Order to oppress and enslave mages, tightening his grip on power.
Against this backdrop of tyranny, a valiant group of heroes emerges to challenge Azra's rule. This band includes the necromancer Galandra, the defiant gnome Karl, the skilled mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr. Together, they embark on a quest to overthrow the oppressive regime and restore freedom to Talamh.
In Absolum, players will dive into a whirlwind of intense action, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and mesmerizing magical spells. The game offers both single-player and cooperative modes, encouraging players to team up, combine their attacks, and synchronize their strikes for devastating effects.
Enhancing the immersive experience, Absolum's soundtrack is being composed by an illustrious trio of music talents: Gareth Coker, celebrated for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, renowned for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundscapes of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025 and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising to deliver a captivating gaming experience to a wide audience.
