In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans might be surprised to learn that the infamous poisonous swamps, a hallmark of From Software titles, will not be making an appearance. This intriguing detail was revealed by the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar-looking location was showcased in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it is an entirely different area. The reason behind the absence of these notorious swamps? The lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's head and a known enthusiast of swamp environments. It's thanks to Miyazaki that such challenging locales have graced previous titles like *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. However, he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

On another note, there's exciting news for fans of cooperative play. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced with one-player and three-player modes, there's a possibility that a two-player mode might be added. Initially, the developers cited content balancing challenges as the reason for excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is currently reevaluating this decision, and while no final verdict has been reached, the prospect of a two-player mode remains on the table.
Mark your calendars, as *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
