The Battle of Polytopia has just rolled out a thrilling new addition to its 4X strategy gameplay: Weekly Challenges. This feature is set to shake up your gaming routine and offer a fresh way to test your strategic prowess. Let's delve into what this exciting update entails.
From Random to Structured
Previously, the game's randomness with varying enemies, resources, and maps kept players on their toes. Now, with the latest free update, The Battle of Polytopia introduces a more structured competitive environment. Every week, players are presented with the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field for everyone.
The challenge? You have 20 turns to amass the highest score possible. Here's the catch: you can only attempt this challenge once per day, giving you a maximum of seven tries per week. This limitation adds an extra layer of strategy and anticipation to your gameplay.
One of the most exciting aspects of Weekly Challenges is that it allows you to experiment with tribes you might not yet own. The game features 16 tribes in total—four available in the base game, and twelve others that can be purchased for $1-4 each. But in this mode, everyone gets to compete with the same tribe, regardless of whether they own it or not.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, and here's why. The introduction of a League system adds a competitive edge to the Weekly Challenges. Starting in the Entry League, players can move up or down based on their weekly performance. The top third of players each week advance to a higher league, while the bottom third drop down, and the middle group remains in place.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level scales up. In the Entry League, you'll face Easy AI opponents, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be matched against Crazy difficulty bots. And don't worry if you miss a week; you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
