"Heroes of the Storm Revives Fan-Favorite Mode"

Heroes of the Storm enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the beloved Heroes Brawl mode makes a triumphant return, rebranded as Brawl Mode. This exciting update revives a multitude of discontinued maps, unseen for nearly five years, and introduces them back into the game. Brawl Mode is currently available for testing on the Heroes of the Storm Public Test Realm (PTR) and is set to officially return in the upcoming patch, expected to launch in about a month.

Originally launched as Arena Mode in 2016, Heroes Brawl quickly became a fan favorite, offering weekly rotating challenges with unique map layouts, alternative objectives, and whimsical rulesets. Notable past Brawls included the all-Nova Ghost Protocol sniper duel, fast-paced Arena versions of classic battlefields, and the engaging Escape from Braxis PvE mission. However, the mode was discontinued in 2020 in favor of ARAM due to its complexity and the dominance of single-lane maps.

The reintroduction of Brawl Mode marks a significant update for the Blizzard MOBA. Unlike its predecessor, which rotated weekly, Brawl Mode will now change every two weeks, on the 1st and 15th of each month. Players can earn a special chest by participating in three games of the active Brawl, although it's unclear whether this reward can be earned once per Brawl cycle or weekly during its availability. With over two dozen past Brawls, fans can look forward to the return of many favorites and potentially new additions in the future.

The first Brawl Mode to hit the PTR is the holiday-themed Snow Brawl, setting the stage for an exciting start to the new era of Brawl Mode. Given the PTR's three-week duration, it's likely that Brawl Mode will officially launch in early February.

Coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of Heroes of the Storm on June 2, 2025, the return of Brawl Mode adds to the festivities, signaling a significant milestone for the game. This revival is not just a nostalgic treat for long-time fans but also a hopeful sign of further developments and possibly a full-scale revival of the MOBA.
