Monster Hunter Wilds: New PC Benchmark and System Requirements Revealed

by Caleb Apr 20,2025

With Monster Hunter Wilds just weeks away from its release, Capcom has unveiled a PC benchmark tool, now live on Steam, to help players gauge their system's readiness. Alongside this, Capcom has also updated and lowered the PC system requirements, making it easier for more players to enjoy the game at optimal settings.

During the recent Capcom Spotlight, it was announced that the PC benchmark for Monster Hunter Wilds is ready for use. The tool requires some shader compilation upon loading, but it's straightforward to use, providing a clear indication of your PC's performance capabilities. It's wise to run the benchmark, especially to understand how the revised system requirements might impact your gameplay experience.

Previously, to achieve 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, the requirements included an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT graphics card; an Intel Core i5-11600K, Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU; and 16 GB of RAM.

However, Capcom has revised these requirements downward. The new Recommended specifications for 1080p at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled are as follows:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit required) / Windows 11 (64-bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM)
  • Storage: 75 GB (SSD required)

These updated requirements should allow players to run Monster Hunter Wilds smoothly at 1080p and 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled. The slight reduction in hardware demands is a welcome change for many gamers.

Early feedback from users running the benchmark indicates improved performance compared to the beta test, especially with Frame Generation enabled. However, the Steam Deck might not be up to the task, as my own tests on the device didn't yield promising results.

One significant change is the reduced storage requirement. Previously, Monster Hunter Wilds needed 140 GB of SSD space, but it's now down to 75 GB. This adjustment is notable, especially given the general trend of increasing file sizes in modern games.
