Mecha BREAK recently wrapped up its open beta, and in response to player feedback, the development team is exploring the possibility of making all mechs available from the start. Discover how the developers are addressing this concern and what changes may be on the horizon.
Mecha BREAK Developers Considering Making All Mechs Free
The multiplayer mech title Mecha BREAK completed its open beta phase on Steam on March 16, drawing strong engagement with over 300,000 concurrent players at its peak. The game currently ranks as the 5th most wishlisted title on the platform.
Developed by Chinese studio Amazing Seasun, Mecha BREAK has received substantial community input regarding core gameplay features. Among the key points raised was the accessibility of Break Strikers (mechs) and the balance of mech module usage in both 3v3 and 6v6 competitive modes.
In response, the team is evaluating potential adjustments, including the removal of initial mech restrictions to allow full access from the beginning. At launch, only one Break Striker is available to players, with the remaining 12 needing to be unlocked through in-game currency or purchases. This requires a significant amount of time and effort, especially for newer players aiming to collect the full roster.
While no final decisions have been made, the developer emphasized that launching under a live service model remains their current plan and long-term strategy. The goal is to maintain dynamic content updates and ensure ongoing improvements based on player insights.
