Following reports from multiple media outlets covering ChinaJoy 2024, S-GAME released a statement on Twitter(X) addressing claims made by an anonymous source allegedly affiliated with Phantom Blade Zero. These reports, citing the anonymous source, suggested a lack of interest in the Xbox platform.

The studio's statement on Twitter(X) emphasizes their commitment to broad game accessibility: "These purported statements do not reflect S-GAME's values or corporate culture," the statement reads. "We are dedicated to making our game available to all players and haven't ruled out any platforms for Phantom Blade Zero. We're diligently working on development and publishing to ensure maximum player reach at launch and beyond."

Phantom Blade Zero Devs Respond to The initial controversy stemmed from a Chinese news outlet's report, translated by fans, stating a perceived lack of Xbox interest. This interpretation was amplified by outlets like Aroged, and further distorted by Gameplay Cassi's mistranslation.

While S-GAME didn't directly address the anonymous source's authenticity, the underlying sentiment holds some truth. Xbox's market share in Asia significantly trails PlayStation and Nintendo. Sales figures in Japan highlight this disparity, with Xbox Series X|S sales falling far short of PlayStation 5 sales.
