Battlefield Labs: Shaping the Future of Battlefield Through Community Collaboration

Battlefield Studios, in partnership with Electronic Arts (EA), has launched Battlefield Labs, a revolutionary player-feedback platform designed to directly involve the community in shaping upcoming Battlefield installments. While participation is initially limited, Battlefield Studios assures that updates will be shared publicly, keeping the wider community informed of the progress. This collaborative approach is planned for future Battlefield titles as well. The development team comprises DICE (creators of the Battlefield franchise), Ripple Effect, Motive (developers of Star Wars Squadrons and Dead Space), and Criterion.

Testing Focus: Core Gameplay and Refinement

Battlefield Labs will initially focus on core gameplay elements. Players will test aspects of the unfinished game to provide feedback that directly influences the final product. The testing will progress through several stages:

  • Core Combat and Destruction: Evaluating the fundamental combat mechanics and the game's signature destruction system.
  • Weapons, Vehicles, and Gadgets: Balancing and refining the performance and effectiveness of in-game equipment.
  • Maps, Modes, and Squad Play: Integrating all aspects of the game to assess overall flow and synergy.
