In response to player feedback, Treyarch has rolled back a controversial change to the zombie spawn delay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies Directed Mode. This reversal came with the latest update on January 9, which also introduced significant bug fixes to the Citadelle des Morts Zombies map and substantial buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, enhancing the overall player experience.
The January 3 update had initially altered the Directed Mode in the Citadelle des Morts map by extending the time between rounds and the delay between zombie spawns after five looped rounds on round 15. This adjustment was met with frustration from the community, as it hindered the ability to farm kills and complete camo challenges. Concerns were raised about potential further restrictions, such as limits on XP gains and rewards. However, Treyarch listened to the community's feedback and decided to revert the spawn delay change, ensuring that zombies now appear within approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds, maintaining the fun and rewarding nature of the game.
Alongside the rollback, the update tackled several issues in Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts, fixing glitches and bugs related to quest progression and stamps. It also resolved visual effect glitches and crashing issues associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud. Furthermore, the update bolstered the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod with four new buffs: the normal and special enemy activation rates were increased to 20% and 7%, respectively, while the elite enemy activation rate with the Big Game Augment equipped was raised to 7%. Additionally, the cooldown rate for Shadow Rift was reduced by 25%, making it a more formidable tool in players' arsenals.
Looking ahead, the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update, scheduled for January 28, promises more bug fixes and changes. In the interim, players have the opportunity to earn rewards by completing the main quest in the Citadelle des Morts Zombies map before the end of Season 1 Reloaded.

ZOMBIES
The team at Treyarch is committed to ensuring Zombies remains both fun and rewarding. The January 3 changes to Directed Mode spawn delays, Big Game for Shadow Rift, and the Shock Charge speedrun step for Terminus were met with mixed reactions. In response, we've reverted the Directed Mode changes, enhanced Shadow Rift with four new buffs, and are preparing a fix for the Shock Charge tactic in Terminus. The first two are now live, while the speedrun fix requires further testing before release.
We appreciate the community's reports on visual FX issues and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment and Aether Shroud in Citadelle des Morts. These bugs have been addressed and are now fixed in the latest update.

LTM Highlights / Adjustments
- Dead Light, Green Light
- Added Liberty Falls to map selection.
- Increased round cap to 20 before Exfil.
With the launch of Dead Light, Green Light, we aimed to introduce players to the LTM gradually, starting with a single map and a 10-round cap before Exfil. Based on feedback, we've expanded the experience by adding Liberty Falls and extending the round cap to 20, with plans to further adjust the challenge level in Week 3.
Stability
- Various stability fixes.
Sometimes, bugs that appear fixed during testing can persist in the live game, leading to inaccuracies in patch notes. The Vermin double-attack bug and the Terminus speedrun fix are examples of this, and both will be addressed in the Season 02 update on January 28.
